Mandy's Story

Mandy came to us in July 2005, by way of a friend who found her walking the streets and gave her a place to stay for a little while.  When he could no longer keep her, he called us, and we have been very blessed to have met this little one!  Though we put ads out all over the newspapers and the Internet for a year, unfortunately, no one has come forward to claim her, and so now it's time to find her a new family to love, and we hope that someone will step forward soon, as we HAVE OUR HANDS FULL this summer, and therefore, we would like to have her into a new home soon!

Mandy, in our best guess, is a Husky/Shepherd mix, who is estimated to be approximately two years old.  She has very clean, very white teeth, she is very healthy, and she has grown and gained weight since she's been here, in fact, a little TOO MUCH.  Though we're pretty sure she isn't going GROW any bigger now, she will require a healthy diet and lots of exercise to keep her weight in check!  She weighs in at approximately 80 pounds, though she is really rather small in stature ... not what I would consider a LARGE dog at all, more of a medium size, as she "fits" very well in our small house.

Mandy is EXTREMELY affectionate!  She LOVES to play, and she is very LOVING toward anyone who will show her love and affection.  She has a very loving, calm personality, is potty trained, rides very well in a car and does not have any major faults, except that she will bark her head off if left alone.  However, if simply left out in a fenced yard to play, she is fine, as long as she knows someone is nearby.  Mandy will require a family who has someone who can be at home with her at all times, or who can take her along with them when they're out, or who can board her or leave her with a friend if gone for long periods during the day, though we do believe that with practice, she will eventually be able to stay home alone for longer periods.

Mandy is in great health, is up to date on all her shots and will be spayed before being adopted.  Her adoption fee is $125.00.
